Instructor: Dr Russell Pearson 5th Dan Black Belt

Russell Pearson currently holds a 5th Dan Master Black Belt at Taekwondo co-founding the Phoenix Taekwondo School with brother Chris in 1996.

With over 30 years of Taekwondo experience, Russell has also achieved success as a national and international Referee. In fact Russell holds an accolade of the only person to have achieved a 100% perfect pass rate in the referees instruction course!

In Phoenix Taekwondo’s London club in Greenwich, he regularly taught classes of 30+ children from multi-ethnic backgrounds bringing a large majority of them through to Black Belt level earning the respect of the local community.

Russell also has various experience in other martial arts which he uses to supplement his vast experience of more than a quarter of a century with Taekwondo.

Russell has also achieved notable academic success receiving a 1st Class Honours Degree from the University of London in Statistics and Mathematics as well as a Doctorate in Statistical Cosmology.

Russell has worked in the city as a Energy Trading Manager but still manages to balance his busy work schedule with his enthusiasm for Taekwondo.
Russell is himself a father of three and has long years of experience in teaching children.
